A lasting record before a place changes.

When a building, bridge or structure is altered or removed, a permit or consent condition often asks for an archival record first. We photograph, measure and document the place to the standard the agency or council expects, so the record outlasts the fabric.

Recording that meets the condition.

We read the condition or guideline first, then plan the recording so nothing has to be repeated.

  • Archival photographic recording, inside and out
  • Measured drawings and annotated site plans
  • Recording of fixtures, finishes and building sequence
  • Recording during demolition or salvage where required

A record ready to lodge.

Records are packaged in the format the agency, council or library collection asks for.

  • Catalogued photographs with a key plan
  • Measured drawings and site plans
  • Historical summary of the place
  • Lodgement copies for the agency, council or archive

How pricing works

Quotes are itemised by day rate, travel, vehicle and equipment, and reporting. Recording is quoted per place, with travel and lodgement copies listed separately.

Send the site location, the work program, your preferred dates and any approval or agreement conditions. We confirm scope, availability and price before work is booked.

Qualifications

Each task is carried out by personnel holding the qualifications it requires in that state, such as a degree in archaeology or a recognised heritage advisor role where the law asks for one. Details are supplied with the quote or before mobilisation on request.

Frequently asked questions

When does recording need to happen?

Before any demolition or alteration starts. Some conditions also ask for recording during works, which we schedule with your contractor.

Which standard do you work to?

We follow the guideline named in your condition, such as the state heritage agency's photographic recording guideline.

Can you record more than one place on a project?

Yes. Corridor and redevelopment projects with several places are recorded in one program to save travel.
