Unexpected finds response when work has stopped.

Trench excavation on a wind-farm construction corridor

Something has turned up in the trench and the crew has stopped. We attend, protect the area, confirm what has been found and help you follow the right process so work can resume lawfully and as soon as possible.

How pricing works

Quotes are itemised by day rate, travel, vehicle and equipment, and reporting. Call-out, travel and attendance are charged at the agreed rates.

Send the site location, the work program, your preferred dates and any approval or agreement conditions. We confirm scope, availability and price before work is booked.

If remains may be human

Stop work, protect the area and call the police straight away. Do not move anything. We can attend to support the site team, and the Aboriginal party for the area is notified as the law requires.

Working with Traditional Owners

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage belongs to the people whose Country it is. Where a cultural heritage agreement, management plan or permit names the Aboriginal party, Registered Aboriginal Party or Native Title group for the area, we work alongside their representatives and follow their direction on cultural matters. Their cultural advice, and the decisions that come from it, are theirs.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can you attend?

It depends on the site and who is nearby. Projects with a monitoring program usually have someone on site already. For other sites we give a realistic attendance time when you call.

Can you write our finds procedure?

Yes. We prepare unexpected finds procedures that suit your site, your plan and the law in your state.

Will work stop for long?

Only the area around the find is stopped. Work elsewhere on site can usually continue, and we aim to give a clear next step on the first visit.
